Daniel R. Young
Senior Counsel
Dan joined Baty Otto Coronado Scheer as senior counsel in January 2021. He has practiced in Kansas City for more than thirty years. After a U.S. District Court clerkship, he practiced for a top local firm as a propane and commercial litigator. In 1995, Dan joined a national law firm where he represented Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex trial and appellate litigation and as in-house ethics counsel for the firm. From 2004-2011, he was a partner with one of Kansas City’s leading litigation boutique firms. Dan joined Baty Otto Coronado Scheer from Schlee & McCarthy, P.C.
Dan has successfully represented clients in trial courts and on appeal in a wide range of complex litigation, commercial and regulatory disputes, legal ethics and malpractice, class actions, civil rights defense, corporate and securities litigation, bankruptcy, and redevelopment law. He has also written and lectured on topics of appellate litigation and legal ethics.
