Dillon L. Cook
Associate
PRACTICE AREAS:
Prior to joining Baty Otto Scheer as an associate in Kansas City, Dillon practiced for five years as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Cass County, Missouri, where he prosecuted everything from misdemeanors to homicides. He tried more than 10 jury trials to verdict as a prosecutor. His time with the county not only provided valuable courtroom experience but also perspective in shaping his career in civil litigation. He credits his work with crime victims for showing him the importance of answers, accountability, and closure. He carries this motivation now to his clients in civil litigation.
Dillon completed law school having been named to the Dean’s List multiple semesters. He participated in various trial competitions including the ABA Criminal Trial Competition as a semifinalist, the Mockingbird Challenge, and the National Civil Trial Competition. He was active in UMKC Law Review, The Urban Lawyer, Board of Barristers, and Phi Delta Phi. Dillon also gained experience during law school as a law clerk for a personal injury law firm in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Dillon holds a degree in psychology from Western Illinois University, where he was a Dan and Laura Webb Scholarship recipient.
