Jennifer M. Johnson

Jennifer is an associate in Baty Otto Scheer’s Kansas City office. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. While at UMKC, she competed as a member of the law school’s mock trial team and served on the UMKC Law Review. Jennifer began her legal experience in law school by interning with the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, the Missouri State Public Defender, and an employment discrimination law firm. Jennifer also served as a research assistant, aiding Professor Julie Cheslik in analyzing Canadian adverse possession law.

Prior to joining Baty Otto Scheer, Jennifer served for three years as law clerk to the Honorable Joel P. Fahnestock of the Sixteenth Circuit Court of Missouri, obtaining hands-on experience in analyzing a wide variety of litigation issues in civil, domestic, and criminal matters.

Before attending law school, Jennifer obtained a B.A. in both English and communication from Truman State University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2014. Jennifer worked for various website design and development companies before pursuing her legal education.
