Matthew A. Victorio

Matthew is an associate in Baty Otto Scheer’s St. Louis office. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a public defender in the Missouri State Public Defender System’s Clayton trial office, where he gained valuable trial experience defending the rights of indigent clients in the St. Louis area. Early in his legal career, Matthew practiced immigration law with a private law firm, handling humanitarian cases before the Immigration Court and counseling local St. Louis businesses on business immigration matters.

Matthew graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2019. While in law school, he was involved in educating detainees at St. Louis City Justice Center on the criminal justice system.

Prior to law school, Matthew served an AmeriCorps year with College Bound, a St. Louis nonprofit organization, where he educated St. Louis youth in under-resourced high schools on the college application process and standardized testing.

Matthew holds a degree in political science from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
