Michael D. Cerulo

Mike is a partner in Baty Otto Scheer’s St. Louis office. An accomplished trial lawyer, Mike has obtained numerous favorable jury verdicts for his clients, including some of the largest defense verdicts in Missouri. He has tried cases in various venues in Missouri and Illinois throughout his career with excellent results. He has also successfully argued and won cases before the Courts of Appeals in Missouri and Illinois, as well as the Missouri Supreme Court.

Mike focuses his practice on commercial litigation, complex personal injury law, products liability, premises liability, construction litigation, contract disputes, insurance coverage, arson-fraud litigation, and commercial trucking claims. He also has significant experience and a track record of success defending clients in Missouri Merchandising Practices Act (MMPA) cases, wrongful death cases, and other consumer and business litigation matters.

Mike received a top Judgment or Bench Award in 2021 given by Missouri Lawyers Media in recognition of an indemnification judgment obtained on behalf of his client in a construction case. He is a frequent lecturer on insurance litigation matters and has presented on various casualty and property topics, efficient claims handling practices, and case law updates in Missouri and Illinois.
