Maria T. Hyde

Maria is an associate in Baty Otto Scheer’s St. Louis office. She has experience in criminal defense litigation, including oral advocacy, pretrial motion practice, and jury trials. She obtained her law degree and a sports law certificate from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. During law school, she participated in the criminal practice clinic and interned with the National Education Association. Maria also led the student mentorship program and co-founded the law school’s Outdoors Club. Before joining Baty Otto Scheer, Maria worked as a staff attorney at the New Hampshire Public Defender, managing a high caseload protecting and defending indigent clients’ rights and dignity throughout the adversarial criminal proceeding.  

Prior to attending law school, Maria was a graduate teaching associate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst while she earned a Master of Science in labor studies.
