Jordan K. Schaper
Jordan is an associate in Baty Otto Coronado Scheer’s Kansas City office. He brings to the firm prior experience in civil litigation and broad experience working with state, federal, and tribal governmental entities, as well as on behalf of quasi-governmental enterprises on multimillion-dollar commercial projects.
Prior to returning to the Midwest to join Baty Otto Coronado Scheer, Jordan practiced with a Washington, D.C., firm representing tribal governmental agencies and commercial enterprises. His responsibilities encompassed regulatory writing and the administrative enforcement of tribal law before tribal gaming regulatory agencies. On the commercial side, Jordan worked with economic arms of several tribal governments by assisting in the land-into-trust application process, participating in the federal rulemaking process, and conducting extensive research on prospective economic ventures in highly regulated fields. Before moving to the D.C. area, Jordan worked with a solo practitioner in Lenexa, Kansas, assisting in a wide array of civil litigation issues, including personal injury, government liability, and complex procedural matters.
Jordan graduated with honors from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2018. During law school, he was an editor of the Gonzaga Journal of International Law. Jordan won Gonzaga’s 82nd Linden Cup appellate advocacy competition and the 2018 regional National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC), taking home the prize for the region’s best brief. While in Spokane, Jordan externed with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office and Gonzaga’s Environmental Law and Land Use Clinic.
Jordan graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in political science, where he served as president of the student government association during his senior year.
He is a member of the bars of Missouri and the District of Columbia.
