Ashley D. Cornish

Ashley is an associate in Baty Otto Scheer’s Kansas City office. She brings prior experience in civil litigation and plaintiff personal injury matters, and her practice is informed by hands-on experience assessing liability and negotiating claims with an emphasis on risk analysis and strategic outcomes.

Ashley earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. During law school, she served as a Comment Editor for the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and authored a scholarly comment that was published by the Journal, reflecting her aptitude for legal research, analytical writing, and statutory interpretation.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Ashley was awarded the Ronald E. McNair Fellowship, a competitive fellowship supporting first-generation college students pursuing advanced collegiate studies, and graduated with a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Following graduation, she worked at a Kansas City-based nonprofit focused on relationship education and community programming.

Ashley is valued for her clear communication, sound judgment, and practical approach to resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.
